Sharpie finepoints on sketch paper taped to a sunny window, shot in super macro mode with a Canon SC2. Manipulated in Adobe Photoshop Elements – accented edges, dry brush filter, increased contrast, diffuse glow.

firebrick - backlit levee doodle
The levee series of doodles were done on sketch paper with Sharpie Fine Points. The scanner used to do the previous versions did an adequate job of capturing the brightness and saturation of the colors.
Backlighting the image and shooting with a long exposure yields results more to my liking – a glowing, stained glass effect.
